1/2 loaf French Bread, cut into 1-inch thick slices
6 large Eggs
1 1/2 cups Milk
1 1/2 cups Half-and-Half Cream
1 tsp Vanilla
1/8 tsp freshly grated Nutmeg
1/2 tsp Cinnamon

TOPPING:
1/2 cup Butter, softened
1 cup Brown Sugar
2 tbsp Corn Syrup
1 cup Pecans, coarsely chopped

Heavily butter 9inch square baking dish. fill completely to top with bread slices. Mix eggs, milk, half and half, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon. Pour mixture over bread slices. Cover and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, heat oven to 350F.

Topping:
Mix butter, sugar and corn syrup. Stir in pecans, spread evenly over bread. Bake until puffed and golden about 40 minutes.

P.s I tried it minus the pecans and added walnuts but not as much I', not much of a nut fan.
